Alpha is a feline whose DNA was crossbred with a wyvern's in the Laboratory. In cat form, his fur is cream-colored, and not a single difference in fur color is shown around his body. His eyes are a duller emerald shade of green than Iota's, symbolizing the fact that he was but a failure in creation to the Laboratory compared to her. His legs are also sturdy and strong, built to attack, yet is more agile in combat than Iota. Similarly to Iota, two small orange horns are present on Alpha's head, yet these are made of a special plasma as opposed to Iota's bony horns.

Nine Alpha was created by VIRM agents in The Laboratory in the program known to the humans as the "Primal Program," a project in which VIRM would turn animals into relentless primal forms in order to cleanse the earth of humanity. Along with the other Nines, he was cloned from the apex clone, Nine Iota, along with wyvern blood for a killer instinct, as the beginnings of an "elite army" of cruel killing machines. While he was locked up at the Laboratory, he and the other Nines were spoiled greatly by the VIRM agents, unlike Nine Iota, who suffered much cruelty while she was held captive. The reason for this was because VIRM saw humanity in Iota, while not in the other Nines, so they resorted to the torture of Iota in order for her to lose all sense of empathy and emotion for anyone she would meet. Targeting the outcasted clone, Nine Alpha and his cohorts began to constantly provoke Iota, telling her she will never be good enough, and threatening to kill her as such. As an effect, Iota stabbed Alpha in his eyes with her horns, blinding him briefly and forcing him to bleed out.

Days later, Alpha "died" in his cell from blood loss (yet it was only a coma, thanks to his exponential healing factor), and his body was thrown into a different holding cell to be eaten by VIRM's collection of primal reptiles (which would be used in splicing DNA with the other Nines and test subjects). Just before he was to be eaten, he awoke, nearly helpless at the whim of the dinosaurs and dragons that surrounded him.

This was when Alpha realized he was betrayed by VIRM, fodder for their true goals. This upset him so greatly to the point where he sieged the Laboratory, destroying it and every living creature inside (minus Iota, she'd escaped prior to his rampage). He then fled the scene and hasn't been seen since until his arrival at BoB. Weeks later, VIRM was raided at their headquarters by international police and shut down, its leaders being arrested for thousands of counts of animal cruelty, crimes against humanity, and several other counts.

He is polite and respectful of others most of the time, however he is kind of a snot-nosed brat at times. He shows no signs of emotion, and believes his only purpose in life was to fight, no matter the cause.
