Was Nayru stressed?

No... not exactly.

She just felt as if sometimes she had too much on her plate. Between being the Sawbone, caring for Chad, and attempting to decipher her Grimoire, she didn't have much time to do anything for herself. She didn't exactly have a problem with that per say (especially considering the fact that she brought the latter two upon herself) but she did think that it would be a wise idea to perhaps pick out a Nurse to lessen her own, personal workload. Besides, she could only be in one place at a time. If something terrible happened to many of her clanmates at once - Goddess forbid - she didn't think she could be forced to choose who to heal first and who to let suffer.

[b][color=#6b7e99]"Uh, gather around for nurse tryouts!" Nayru called out in the loudest voice she could muster before delicately placing an array of herbs in front of her. To her left, the encyclopedias that Beck had given her when she first became nurse rested- even more worn than the last time they had been seen by the public eye. [color=#6b7e99]"Oh... and I guess this can be a basic lesson too! It's probably good that you guys know what to do in an emergency."

Chad made his presence known at that moment, waddling out from behind Nayru to rest between her front legs. She affectionately booped him on the snout, glad that he was trying to 'participate' as well. Now she just needed her actual clanmates to arrive.

Hati knew her cool older sister held some tough responsibilities, but those responsibilities seemed tied to knowledge. And Hati, the ever curious hunter, always wanted to learn new things. Splopping down in front of Nayru, the cheerful panther cub flicked her tail and restively shifted around on the ground. Her eyes drifted to the book, as she squinted to read the cover. Looking back up at Nayru, she chirped, "Whatcha going to teach us, Teach?" Right now she could use a break from running around in the hot sun, so hopefully this would be fun!

It was pretty much calculated that Iota would show up for nursing tryouts. It was her chance to save lives instead of taking them, as well as a chance to bond with her friend Nayru some more. She stretched lazily, having just finished a batch of sweets she'd found lying around in the town, and approached Nayru ecstatically, not holding back any excitement for this new direction her life is beginning to take. "I'd like to give it a shot. Seems fun." Iota gave off a smug grin, a cocky facade of her inner excitement.

Morgan trotted toward the trio, excited to learn. The samoyed was planning to go on his first trip as an ambassador, so he needed all the help he could get. "I'd like to learn too. Something for small wounds would be nice." He sat down near Nayru, his tail wagging in anticipation. Giggling, he added, "Maybe I can be a Sawbone someday."

Malphas couldn't be a sawbone. Sure, he respected the craft, but he had his eyes set on bigger goals. He padded up next to Morgan and eyeing Nayru with calm eyes, internally thanking her- and Morgan- for saving his life back then. If it hadn't been for them and the others he would have been a rotting corpse wedged between metal claws.

"I'm just here to learn. In case I get stuck in another of Beck's traps," The male snorted jokingly.

Nurse tryouts. She was quite curious on who would end up being taught by her daughter as she walked over sitting beside Hati aiming to playfully nudge her cub before nodding in the direction of Nayru to show her support before adding with a gentle smile "Hati, your sister is going to teach us about herbs and how to use them," She murmured to her child with a slow nod.

She had managed to lull five in with the promise of learning and honestly, that excited the tiny Sawbone. Though most of them were more interested in simply gaining a better understanding of herbs, her gaze lingered only briefly upon Iota when she realized that she intended to actually try out for the position. Interesting. Very interesting.

Scanning the herbs that rested at her paw, Nayru would delicately lift a marigold stalk for everyone to see. [b][color=#6b7e99]”Yes, everyone will be gaining a better understanding of herbs today. While we don’t often have extreme injuries to worry about, scratches, bumps, and bruises are all pretty typical. Um... so this, this is marigold. You can chew it up to make a poultice. Does anyone know what it’s good for?” She inquired lightly, waving around the herb for all to see. She contemplated passing it around for her clanmates to inspect but thought against it- a damaged herb was an unusable herb after all.

malphas glanced over at the others, then in a shocking decision announced "hey nayru. i changed my mind, lemme try out for that nurse position." would malphas make a good nurse? who knew. he was certainly loyal... and he decided that forcing himself to volunteer would help him get out of his shell.

"marigold. you can use it to disinfect shit, right?" that was one thing he could remember his mother teaching him as a child. he snickered at the thought- he had never used his medical knowledge on himself, even something as simple as a marigold poultice. he liked watching his wounds get infected and they'd drip pus. it was great. "it tastes like shit but you gotta chew it up for the best result."

As soon as the vivid bookworm-turned-green-thumb had been in progress of answering Nayru’s question on marigold, she was interrupted by the new blood Malphas. She choked on her words, hesitating and pulling back. Damn... Pangs of jealousy ran throughout her. She knew Malphas meant well, what with his supposed “trying out for the position” and all, but she didn’t want anything to get in the way of her getting closer to Nayru, or gaining the position of a medic for that matter. All she wanted to do was save lives, was that so hard?

I’m too clingy.

She slumped back, head lowered, a frustrated look on her face as she had failed to answer Nayru in a timely fashion. Oh well, I suppose. There will probably be more questions. That is, if Malphas didn't snipe her opportunities away once more.

The leopard cub flicked her tail, tilting her head right to left as she first listened to Nayru and then to Malphas. The two certainly seemed knowledgeable to her; she could barely tell the difference between the marigold plant and any other stray weed clinging to the polluted forest floor. She gave Malphas a puzzled look as she tried to understand the answer to his question; being so young, she usually didn't have to think about things like diseases and germs. "Why do you need to disinfect shit?" she asked, quite oblivious that she just spoke a swear word.
