It had been... long since she had been in a group, around four years if she recalled correctly (and, despite her age, her memory was good enough for her to attest to that.) It had been a lonely four years, however, taking up a large portion of her life despite being a rather social creature at heart.

The past had a funny way of doing that to you. Her name was known among friends, or had been at least, and when troubles arose they were all abandoned along with that said name. Who she was was no longer, the name 'Gale' far more fitting now that her roots had settled elsewhere.

For now, those roots were deep in the earth itself, but it was high time for her to settle down somewhere else, if only for a little. "Hello?" Gale's voice carried through the air, the feline sitting on the edge of the border patiently, peering into the marsh and careful not to overstep her boundaries... just yet, at least.

Iota couldn't say she had been known amongst many "friends" before joining the tight-knit Tanglewood family. Her name was more or less an insult to her instead, used by her peers to belittle her. 'Nine Iota.' Far lower down in the ranks of the Nine gang than, say, Alpha or Beta; she'd been at the very bottom of the ranks. It was probably because she was different from the others, because she was "imperfect." While Iota shrugged off the past today, the thought of her name having used to mean nothing but a mere insult still stung; she wished she'd been born — or created, rather — with a different name, something a bit more vibrant and welcoming than some kind of rank.

Her bandages rubbed against her torso, still wincing as the wounds from the dog attack were still sore. She was lucky she made it out of that whole thing alive — and able to walk, even. Her hind legs had been completely crushed by the concrete; she was lucky the fractures in her paws were pretty much minor. They'd heal. All old wounds heal, right?

She paced across the Tanglewood border, on patrol as usual. Sure, she was a medical trainee, but she still had duties as a member of the clan. Protecting those she loved from outside threats came first. So, she took it upon herself to be today's sentry. Her bandages on her hind paws were soggy as the wet marshlands dampened her paws with each step. The feline noticed an unfamiliar voice calling for attention, and she moved, treading towards its location. With the sudden influx of newcomers, she didn't doubt it was someone new. She'd been really excited at all the new faces she'd seen recently, but it also came with the heavy weight of anxiety; if she were to become a sawbone, like the lovely Nayru, she'd have even more souls to look after, to heal and protect. And that worried her greatly. It was a good thing Malphas was training as well.

She approached the newcomer, who had respectfully placed herself outside of the border, and dipped her head in greeting. "Hey there. Name's Iota, this is Tanglewood territory. I'm assumin' you need a place to stay, right? You look like another one of the vagabonds we've been gettin'." She paused, sighing gently; she should try to sound a bit more inviting. Giving the feline a gentle smile, she continued. "In any case, we'd be glad to have you join the family. We've got lots goin' on right now, and we'd love to welcome you in to join the fun."
