yeah, there'd definitely be the issue of it becoming a popularity contest which i'm not super about. the only way i can see it working was possibly if it were somehow anonymous/the candidates were hidden and then only presented as like "Candidate 1" and "candidate 2" or smth like that but even then i don't love that idea tbh.

as for ranks, i know i'm posting this a few days late but i did end up getting rid of the medic position for now and just changing it to a title to help encourage ic actions to back up having the title/role tho i'm all about adding that back up if that's smth that y'all would have interest in.

I actually LOVE the idea of IC trials before becoming leader. RN I feel like it's just immediately accepted but maybe there could be an added tradition of making a difficult journey or helping with a specific situation or smth? It could even have smth to do with the Star Pool maybe?? like maybe they need to spend a specific night there facing various situations and only then can they be proved they're 'fit' for leadership or smth??

It looks really good but I don’t get the divide in leadership? It seems an arbitrary distinction too so I don’t see what one leader would handle that the other doesn’t.

if it was we decided to divide it because we're dealing with 3 pretty big systems and, speaking from experience, it's a lot for one person to handle and manage. These are also things deps can't/don't really help with becuase you actually have to have access to the account so then the dep kinda just becomes another leader and it's just kinda mess in my experience, so we though it'd be simpler to just have two leaders. If it doesn't work out or we think that's no longer necessary, we'll go back to a more traditional set up. Also to emphasize the theme of having two "sides" balancing each other out and working as one.
