from her ivory fur marred with sandy tones of pale brown. her cream undertone. right down to those eyes that could snatch his very soul. she was beautiful and he had to accept that he cared about her on a new level. something he never felt before he met her. sure, he flirted and goofed off. yet, he never once felt this feeling for anyone else before now.
love.
it was a strange emotion, really. he knew he would do anything for her and he would die for her. but, even more so, he knew he would live for her. that was how he knew his true feelings. he never had the desire to live for someone else. he almost missed the flick of her tail on his nose.
almost.
but as anyone knows, almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. he jerked his head back in surprise and felt heat was over his face. then, she mentioned the tidepools and he felt like kicking himself. i'm glad it wasn't me, but.. could he really say what he was thinking?
he had to say it or let himself be eaten alive on the inside. i wish i could make that pain you felt go away forever. there, he said it. he said what he felt and meant in that very moment. after a long pause, he would lower himself slightly. sure. hop on and i'll take us there.
maybe he could find her something special here to make her feel better? god he hoped so. if she hopped up, he would raise to his full height and turn to slowly trot off.
