his gaze had been unwavering, fixated on auberon the entire time, head occasionally tilting in thought to one of the others' responses. the sage offered for them to follow to chat in a better place, the hellhound rose to his paws swiftly and yawned, bones visibly creaking and shifting as they slid into place as he got up. he noticed two others, flanking their host, but made no comment to their words nor appearances.
he made a point that the mountains were dangerous when dark and that they would be willing to shelter their alliance party until the morrow. damion let his gaze wander to arlo, gently bumping his shoulder with a nod. "best to accept their offer. we don't know their territory nor their enemies. i can protect you if they want to attack." the words were very quiet, words meant for arlo's ears only.
