With heavy breathes and ears pinned to his head, he closed his eyes. 'They did this to you.' Tears dropped from his sockets as she pressed on. He didn't deserve this. They didn't need this burden. Alexandre wanted to deny his impending doom, but the sight of any hopeful light had faded into the dark.

With a choked gasp, jaws wrapped around his thin chest. Alexandre's head lowered into the air, dangling helplessly, and defeat swarmed over him.
