Michael felt his ears pin down against his skull as soon as he heard the other's irritated tone, his heart sinking a little bit. He should've expected this, really, but he still wanted to run away, just so that he would be able to avoid the conversation. Still, he was fairly sure if he ran away from this again, Trevor was going to throttle him next time, so he forced himself to stay in place, shifting his paws awkwardly against the wood grain of his porch. He glanced downwards as he spoke, unable to truly meet Trevor's eyes, "I'm not... I haven't been avoidin' you. You said you needed to eat, so I just let you go and eat. I wasn't tryin' to avoiding talking to you..." It was a blatant lie, but it was all that Michael had, since he knew the conversation was going to be full of emotion and stumbling over his own words.
