Rushing tides were still quite the new concept to young Alpha. That accursed girl who was stuck in his cell all those years ago would tell stories of the roaring oceans and the meticulous inner workings of the deep sea from her findings through tales and legends coming from the seemingly endless library that the Laboratory had deep within its central core. The crashing waves against the shore... The deep, quick, and greedy currents as they would take a loved one from another... The boundless array of sea life that the bluegreen water encompassed... Alpha couldn't even begin to fathom how it all worked. He still had much to learn about this vast new world he had ventured upon, and much more to learn than just fighting.
Paws dipped into the sand, leaving a trail of prints behind him as he prowled the beach in search of a quick snack. Fighters've gotta eat too, he supposed. The tide lapped at his cream-colored paws as he began to ponder who exactly he was, and what his purpose was to serve. Obviously, if he was thrown out the way he was, he served no purpose, right? At least to the scientists. He had nobody to fight for anymore, except for his new home at the Typhoon, but could he really call them his comrades yet? It was a tough call, considering he was a bit too stuck-up to attempt making acquaintances around the island.
Whining. It pierced his ears from yards away, and it made him roll his eyes. Who let their damn kid out again...? It's hard enough getting sleep around here with all this noise, but now I can't even think to myself in the daytime. Huffing an annoyed grunt, Alpha treaded the beach towards the position of the complaints, regretting the day he joined the Typhoon with each passing paw step.
It was indeed a child, but not one he had encountered before. This one looked... different than the others, and didn't look like it was a child of anyone he's met there yet. And it was seemed to have been in mourning of the large aquatic creature that laid dead near it, giving off a hot stench. The beach smelled bad enough, but now there's a carcass here smelling it up even worse. Fantastic.
He approached the child slowly, unamused, as he wanted to know who exactly this child was. The child had said something like... her mother? But who? Slowly, the cream tom craned his head around the area. His eyes met with Papercutter's, then Caesar's. Stifling a sigh, he drooped his head back at the kit. This one was definitely not the others' children. Eyes shot at the carcass that had laid near the orphan. Could it be...? No, there's no way.
He grunted as he pulled his head back up from near the kitten, popping the joints in his neck as he twisted his head. It's been too long since he's gone without any sort of battle training, but it might have been for the best, as the calm sort of tamed him a bit. "You've a mother around here?" Sighing and feeling like he'd sound like a damned fool, he added, "That fish your mom?" What an odd question to ask a cat.
