DON'T PUSH ME I'LL FIGHT IT
sleep was not something he often did near camp. awaiting his punishment was killing him. well, not really. he was more worried for inferno. alas, he needed to rest. so, here he was settled in just outside camp. a nice spot under a tree. his eyes closed as he stood, knees locked, and slowly dosed off in the early hours of the night.
----dream----
the brute would open his eyes on an open plain and his head snapped left then right. he knew this had to be a mistake. he was in the coalition when he first dosed off. the smell of daisy and honey reached him and he turned. his mother was in the distance. watching him. he started for her instantly. was she alive or was he truly dreaming?
the beige mare shook her head as he drew closer. 'how could you?' the words hit him hard and he froze. "mother i.." she stamped a hoof and he stopped dead in his tracks. the earth rising up to swallow her whole.
'you did this to her and to me.' she screamed as she vanished into the earth. he couldn't speak. he couldn't move.
----end----
jolting, his eyes shot open and his nostrels flaired. he looked about to see his groups lands about him. heart thundering, he shook his head. lowering his head to the ground. smelling for any trace of her. yet, there was nothing. he was alone and he knew it.
yet, he wondered. was his mother right? was it his fault?
