THE MOON'S WATCHING OVER— Since she'd run into that man in the church, Eliora wanted to do something. She didn't know what. She just knew she wanted to be... out. Out doing something or helping someone or... anything. She just needed to get out of the house more often than to go to church or the cemetery. She was going to drive herself mad in that empty house, with all the empty rooms that reminded her of all the people that'd left. No, not left. That were missing or gone. She couldn't stand it. She couldn't stand the silence but she also couldn't stand the voices of their ghosts. Not literally, of course. Though she did have powers, that wasn't one of them. No, but she still heard their voices in all the toys she'd refused to move since Ivy's disappearance and all the clothes that hung on the other side of her closet that were Alexander's but she refused to move. So, with much pain, she'd pulled out boxes. All the clothes and toys went in them. Clearly she didn't need them anymore and keeping them around was only causing her more pain.
Today, though, she was packing away the house. No, today she revived the thing she'd loved only less than her daughter and husband. The bookstore. It'd been in her family for as long as she could remember and a place of refuge up until she let it go following Ivy's kidnapping and Alexander's murder. Today, though, she pulled the drapes from the darkened storefront and began setting up their most beautiful books in the front. There was a hand painted sign she had to stand on a chair at the ledge of the display that read 'Eliora's books'. A new name for a new phase. This wasn't just the old shop she'd owned with her family before. This was how she'd move on, how she'd become a real member of this community again. She watched as the light streamed in the wide windows, a gentle smile on her lips as she began to go through every single shelf, reorganizing and cleaning everything as thoroughly as she could. It'd take some time but she was sure that she'd have it operating for the general public in a few days. For now, though, she kept the door propped open to allow a breeze as she worked, her long hair drawn into braids and a bun on her head. She hummed softly as she worked, allowing her mind to drift as she looked over the many names and titles she had in her little shop. —YOU AND YOUR DREAMS
