The days had slowed down.
Why had it bothered him so much? The achingly sharp scent of his fur, the way his nest had cradled another body for the night. His eyes were half lidded as he lounged on the stairs of Vanguard's Point. His ears twitched and rotated as he kept watch over the cavern, taking his time to observe each and every member. When he found that a certain grey flank was missing, his gaze fell again.
A soft sigh left his muzzle and he laid his head down, eyes half lidded and ears lowering gently. Maybe he wouldn't come back, and maybe Arlo would have to move on. But the way he had cried that night, fell into his wings embrace.. Arlo's head shook, picking it up quickly and exhaling through his nose sharply. He was intoxicated. Drunk thoughts are not sober thoughts. He reminded himself, turning his head towards the entrance.
Arlo wished he was here.

Arlo was not the only one that was missing Aesior. Ever since the other had left, Fraggle had felt slightly... off. He knew exactly why, but he still didn't know how to deal with it, if he was being honest. How was someone supposed to cope, when one of the closest things they had to a father figure just left? The boy still had Arlo to lean on, he supposed, but it was easy to tell that the vanguard was hurting because of the whole situation as well. So, Fragglerock had kept his distance, not wanting to put more pressure on Arlo's shoulders when he already had so much to worry about.
That didn't mean that he intended to just ignore the other, however. Frag wanted to be able to provide his own support, and that was exactly what he was planning to do. He had spotted Arlo's silent form scanning over the cavern, and his chest ached similarly at the distinct absence of Aesior there. Taking a deep breath inwards, the child hopped over to where the vanguard laid, settling down beside him and hesitating for a moment. After said long moment of thought, Fraggle spoke up softly, "...I miss him too. Do you think he'll be back soon?" Do you think he'll be back at all? The question went unsaid, and yet it still lingered in the back of the rabbit's mind.

Unsurprisingly, Cleopatra was not bothered by Aesior leaving. In fact, the sphynx seemed to be happy about it. She never liked Aesior simply because of him being mute, believing that despite the wound Aesior had, the tom was faking it. There was no reason he could not speak, in the woman's mind. Cleopatra's days went on as normal without a single care about the flower-growing tom, something that could not be said for her clanmates. She did not understand the ties they had with Aesior; if he could not speak, then what use was he?
"I believe it is better to accept the fact he is gone." Cleopatra meowed as she passed by, stopping for a brief moment to look down at the laying figure of Arlo and the small figure of Fragglerock.
